Autoresponder emails

Send an automatic confirmation to form submitters after their submission passes spam checks. Customize the subject and message with merge tags — unknown tags are safely ignored.

When emails are sent

  • Autoresponder is enabled on the form
  • Spam processing has finished
  • The submission is not flagged as spam
  • The submitter left a valid email address

Spam and bot submissions never trigger autoresponders.

Available merge tags

Tag Replaced with
{{reference_id}} Obfuscated submission reference (safe to share with the submitter)
{{submitted_at}} Submission date and time in your team timezone
{{form_name}} Name of this form

Tags like {{name}} or {{email}} are not supported. If you paste an unsupported tag, it is removed from the sent email so nothing broken is delivered.
