Free HTML Grant Application Form Generator

Community foundations, corporate CSR teams, and parish councils still accept Word documents by email. A first-round grant request should collect the same outline from US 501(c)(3) applicants and UK CIOs: organisation, amount narrative, and a link to a budget sheet.

What is a grant application form?

A grant application is a structured ask for restricted or unrestricted funding. US private foundations often want a letter of inquiry before a full proposal. UK funders (local authority, lottery, trust) often want a project summary, beneficiaries, and a spreadsheet budget. Neither should start with a 30-field portal login.

This page is for the letter-of-inquiry or small-grant stage. Multi-year federal or central-government programmes belong in the systems those agencies already mandate.

What programme officers can score

If the first screen asks for audited accounts, small community groups bounce. Ask for a budget link and a narrative first.

  • Organisation and lead contact with a phone that works during US and UK office hours.
  • Fund or round name when you run several pots from one URL.
  • Project narrative in the cover-letter field with a published character hint on the page.
  • Budget or accounts URL in the resume field—rename it ‘budget spreadsheet or accounts PDF’.
  • Optional registered address with ZIP or postcode if geography is an eligibility rule.

Do not collect bank details, charity commission passwords, or EIN/charity numbers you will paste into a public dashboard. Confirm legal status in a second, access-controlled step.

How small funders take applications

Fluxx and Salesforce Grants exist. A town trust with one round a year does not need them.

1. HTML on the grants page

Criteria, exclusions, and the form in one place. Best conversion for community applicants.

2. Foundant / Fluxx

Right when you have reviewers, eligibility quizzes, and multi-stage scoring.

3. Email a Word template

Version chaos. Someone always submits the 2019 file.

4. Paper to the clerk

Still required by some UK parish processes. Offer HTML as the default.

Static CSR and foundation microsites

Corporate giving pages are often a brand site with no CMS workflow. Put the form for the six weeks the round is open.

Export CSV for trustees. Spell out retention: unsuccessful US and UK applications should not live in a shared inbox for a decade.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can applicants upload a 20-page PDF?

Prefer a Drive/Dropbox link on round one. Large public uploads fail on charity broadband.

Is this for government grants.gov style programmes?

No. Use the mandated portal. This is for foundations, CSR, and local trusts.

USD versus GBP budgets?

Ask them to state currency in the narrative. You can add a select on the form.

How do unsuccessful applicants hear?

Batch email from your process. The form only captures the ask.
