Fire alarm system test log generator

Technicians logging a panel or zone can mark normal status, whether a test signal reached monitoring, audible and visual device behaviour, battery backup, and free-text fault codes. The signer is the technician, not a building occupant.

This is an operational checklist you can embed. It is not a certified safety program or legal advice. Match items to your site rules before you rely on a signed record.

Panel identity stays in the header

Panel or zone ID and alarm type (smoke, heat, manual pull) sit above the items so a printed page still identifies which loop you tested without reading every row.

Fault codes as text, not a guess list

Manufacturers disagree on code tables. A text item lets the tech paste the display string instead of forcing a generic dropdown that would be wrong for half the panels in the field.

Frequently asked questions

Does this talk to the alarm panel?

No. You transcribe what you observed. There is no panel protocol in the browser.

Is an occupant required to counter-sign the alarm log?

No. Only the technician signature is required on this template.

Can I print only failed devices?

Print outputs the whole log as filled. Filter in your own records after export if you need a subset.
